The guided path
Get set up once (Step 0), then seven steps from a download to a demo. You have 70 minutes for the whole block, and the order matters more than the minutes: get something deployed early, then improve it.
| Step | What it covers |
|---|---|
| 0. Get set up | Log in to Wrangler, pick your team account, connect your coding agent to live docs and the event MCP server, and prove it with a throwaway Worker. |
| 1. Launch your first agent | Download the starter, point it at your team account, deploy, and see your agent answer on your own URL. |
| 2. First tool | Give the agent one tool that does something useful for your industry. |
| 3. State and memory | Make the agent remember work across requests and redeploys. |
| 4. Add a primitive | Pick one platform primitive (schedule, Workflows, AI Search, Browser Run or R2) and wire it in. |
| 5. Human approval | Make one consequential action wait for a person to click Approve. |
| 6. Secure it | Explore AI Gateway, AI Security for Apps + WAF and Secure MCP on your own agent. |
| 7. Demo and submit | Prepare a three-minute demo and submit your project. |
Every step stands on its own. It explains why it matters, teaches the concept it needs, gives you exact things to do, tells you what you should see, and has collapsed help for when it fails. You never need the reference pages to finish one.
Before you start
Pick an idea from the Idea Gallery, or bring your own problem. One tool, one useful action, is enough to begin. Not sure yet? Start Step 1 anyway: deploying does not depend on your idea.
